Brief Description

The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has released the notification for the State Eligibility Test (SET) 2025. This examination is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in various universities and colleges within Madhya Pradesh. The test will be conducted offline (OMR-based) across 20 subjects. Candidates who have a Master's degree or are in the final year of their Master's program are eligible to apply online for this prestigious eligibility test.

Subjects for SET 2025

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have a Master's Degree (or equivalent) with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD candidates of MP).
  • Candidates who are appearing for their final year/semester of the Master's degree are also eligible to apply provisionally.
  • Candidates whose post-graduation subject is not in the list of 20 SET subjects can appear in the UGC NET / CSIR NET examination.

Paper-I: General Paper on Teaching & Research Aptitude100 Marks

  • This paper will have 50 objective-type questions, each carrying 2 marks.
  • It is designed to test the teaching/research aptitude, reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness of the candidate.

Paper-II: Subject Specific Paper200 Marks

  • This paper will have 100 objective-type questions, each carrying 2 marks.
  • The questions will be based on the subject selected by the candidate.

Qualifying Criteria

To be considered eligible for Assistant Professor, candidates from the General category must secure at least 40% aggregate marks in both papers taken together, while candidates from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD) must secure at least 35% aggregate marks. The top 6% of the appearing candidates who clear this first step will be declared qualified.
